During many years,Pr Elass-Rochard Elisabeth has studied, with Dr Legrand D. (DR CNRS), the ability of lactoferrin, a glycoprotein present in neutrophils, to regulate the inflammatory processes induced by lipopolysaccharides (LPS), by analyzing its interaction with LPS and the pattern recognition receptors of immunity *(team “Regulation of Cancer and Inflammation by glycoconjugates “, directed by Dr Mazurier)*. In 2008, she joined the *team of Dr Guerardel* Y (DR CNRS, UGSF) which is internationally recognized for its expertise on the structural analysis of glycans and polysaccharides. Thus, her research focused on the immunomodulatory properties induced by mycobacterial glycolipids on macrophages. The results have highlighted differences in the biological activity of these glycoconjugates, related to subtle structural characteristics. From 4 years ago, she has investigated with these collaborators, the changes glycosylation during monocyte/macrophage differentiation, through complementary approaches available in UGSF. Furthermore, an alteration of *N*-glycan profiling of human macrophages has been demonstrated, after infection by *M. bovis* BCG.
