Présentation
My research is situated at the intersection of Law, History and Islamic Studies. My dissertation explores the evolution of a new legal order in Egypt during the 19th century, extending into the 20th century, laying the groundwork for the contemporary Egyptian legal and judicial system.
The objective of the thesis project is to utilize empirical material, specifically the al-Muḥāmāt review established by Egyptian lawyers in 1920, to elucidate the transformation of legal language, law, and institutions in 20th-century Egypt.
