Présentation

Benoit Devincre =============== Senior Scientist (Directeur de Recherche CNRS) ---------------------------------------------- ### LEM, UMR104, CNRS-ONERA - B. Devincre was born in France in 1965. He is married and father of two sons. - He graduated from the Formation d'Ingénieur de l'Université Paris Sud Orsay (FUIPSO, today Polytech Paris-Saclay) - He made a thesis at the SRMP (CEA) and LSI (Ecole Polytechnique - CEA - CNRS) and graduated PhD from the Université d'Orsay (UPS, today University Paris-Saclay). - He occupied a Post-Doctoral position in the material department at the UNiversity of Oxford (UK) - He joined the French National Center for Scientific Research ([CNRS](http://www.cnrs.fr/en)) in 1994. - He is currently Senior physicist in condensed matter at the Laboratoire d'Etude des Microstructures ([LEM](https://lem.onera.cnrs.fr/en/home/)) a laboratory jointly run by the [ONERA](https://www.onera.fr/en) and the [CNRS](http://www.cnrs.fr/en). - With his collaborators, he is developping multiscale material modelling mainly based on Discrete Dislocation Dynamics (DDD) simulations. - His main interests are in linking the dynamical properties of crystal defects and the mechanical properties of materials. - His research is concerned with the plastic properties of pure metals, alloys, ceramics and heterostructures like thin films or Metallic Matrix Composites. - Since 2018, he sharing is time between its research at the LEM and a position of Scientific Policy Officer at the Institute of Physics (INP) in charge of condensed matter and interdisciplinary projects.
