**MAJOR SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS**
Have pointed out, with one of my PhD student (Jing CAO), that laser light polarization can rotate ferroelectric nano-crystals in glass (at the beginning of their birth).
Have pointed out pen and scissor effect (breaking of symmetry in the mechanical effect) in the action of femtosecond laser on silica-based glasses (note that this was a complementary aspect of the quill effect (optical effect) discovered in the same time by P. Kazansky).
Life-time general modeling of UV laser written Bragg index gratings in silica based optical fibers, now used for the certification of devices in the optical telecom networks of great companies.
Quantum interpretation of X-ray absorption pre-edge structure terms of quadrupolar electronic transitions. Have found bi-polarons in Nb rich (Ti,Nb)O2 rutile crystals.
**PERSONNAL PROFILE**
I have deep knowledge in material synthesis, in spectroscopies in IR (vibration, Raman), visible, UV (defect luminescence, absorption) and X-ray (XANES, EXAFS), in solid state physics, in photochemistry or photophysics, in kinetics and especially in glass media, and non-linear optical aspects.
My skill is at the interface between the chemical synthesis and the physical properties i.e. an interdisciplinary position.
**EDUCATION**
