Présentation
Cat Ellington is an American multidisciplinary artist, author, independent researcher, and citizen scientist best known for her extensive contributions across music, film, literature, and open science. Her career as a writer of literary criticism began in 1979; her career as a songwriter/composer began in 1981; her film career as an executive casting director began in 1993; and her empirical field research career began in 2014. Driven by over 12 years of rigorous empirical fieldwork, her research portfolio centers on biological and environmental sciences, featuring active long-term tracking projects in marine biodiversity, ornithology, and containerized botany. As an independent scholar and collaborator with the National Gardening Association, the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF), and PADI, she manages primary field datasets that synthesize localized ecological observations with peer-reviewed taxonomic research. Her open-access data portfolio—comprising 32 distinct individual datasets and a master aggregate compendium—is structured specifically to trace plant pathology, host-plant configurations, and invasive entomological vectors within managed residential landscapes. Her data deposits and creative intellectual properties are globally synchronized under persistent authority networks and international registries, including Wikidata (Q115362412), VIAF, ISNI, and ORCID.
