Research interests
My research focuses on interactions between sociocultural context and the communication practices found in specific settings, whether academic, scientific or professional, in English and in French.
Situated communication practices are both written and oral, but they are also multimodal: verbal, visual, spatial, gestural, sound-based and temporal. They build on the implicit and tacit aspects of social interaction, involving how people think, what they perceive, how they interpret and situate themselves within sociocultural events.
I apply the results to a wide variety of situations, for example, the conception of academic, scientific and/or professional development materials and training programs, and the accompaniment of learners' social identity construction.
