Présentation
Since September 2022, Francesca Di Garbo is Maîtresse de Conférences at the Department of Language Sciences at Aix-Marseille University (AMU), and a member of the CNRS Laboratoire Parole et Langage (LPL). She is also a research affiliate of the ERC-funded project [GramAdapt](https://www.helsinki.fi/en/researchgroups/linguistic-adaptation), based at the University of Helsinki.
Her research interests include: language typology, historical and areal linguistics, language contact, and sociolinguistics typology, with a focus on morphosyntax, nominal classification, nominal number systems, and Bantu languages. She is also interested in sampling methods in linguistic typology and in developing comparative approaches for studying the sociohistorical correlates of language change.
At AMU she teaches courses on morphology, syntax, language typology, and epistemology of linguistic research.
Francesca is one of the Associate Editors of the Diamond Open Access journal [Linguistic Typology at the Crossroads](https://typologyatcrossroads.unibo.it/about).
