Iwona Dudek

Iwona Dudek, born in Cracow in 1969 Architect (Cracow's Technical University) PhD History of architecture and urbanism In 1995 started doctoral studies at the Faculty of Architecture in Cracow and participated in the education tasks of the Institute of History of Architecture and Monuments' Preservation. Obtained two European grants for collecting data necessary for her PhD and for conducting independent scientific research in France. In March 2001 obtained the title of doctor of technical sciences with a specialisation in history of architecture and urbanism. Since 2001 Iwona Dudek is a CNRS Senior Researcher at the MAP-Gamsau research team in Marseilles. Her research focuses on InfoVis as applied to historical sciences, and particularly to historic architecture. She co-introduced and developed a methodological framework known as informative modelling, questioning the relationship between historical sciences and computer-based solutions for data acquisition and analysis. Her research themes and involvements include knowledge modelling, history of architecture and urban forms, diachronic analysis of historic architecture, visual analytics as applied to historical sciences, time-oriented data/information management, spatio-temporal information systems, graphic semiology in the context of infovis techniques and tangible interfaces (tactichronie patent). Iwona Dudek is the author and co-author of numerous publications on topics ranging from history of architecture to information management and InfoVis. She acts as a reviewer or international scientific journals and conferences.

Iwona Dudek, née en 1969 à Cracovie (Pologne) A entamé en 1988 des études d'architecture à la Faculté d'Architecture de l'Université Polytechnique de Cracovie. En novembre 1993, a passé ses examens théoriques en architecture et urbanisme (grade de magister), et a défendu son projet de diplôme d'architecte en juin 1994. A participé à une campagne d'inventaire du patrimoine architectural de deux sites Croates (commande du Ministère de la Culture de Croatie). En Décembre 1995, a été sélectionnée pour mener des études doctorales à la Faculté d'Architecture de l'Université Polytechnique de Cracovie. Pendant ces études, a effectué des taches d'enseignement pour l'Institut d'Histoire de l'Architecture et de Préservation des Monuments. A obtenu deux bourses européennes (TEMPUS), une pour faire un état de l'art et rassembler des éléments relatifs a son thème de recherche menés par des équipes de recherche européennes et une pour développer et pour conclure par la phase d'expérimentation de sa formation doctorale (UMR CNRS MAP 694 - GAMSAU). En mars 2001, a défendu sa thèse de doctorat et obtenu le grade de docteur en sciences techniques, spécialité histoire de l'architecture. Recrutée en mai 2001 comme Chargée de recherche CNRS (Section no 39). Méthode de travail centrée sur l'application de fondamentaux issus du champ Infovis aux sciences historiques. Thèmes et travaux incluant fouille et analyse de données historiques, ontologies, données spatio-temporelles, sémiologie, interfaces tangibles, etc. Est l'auteur ou le co-auteur de nombreuses publications scientifiques dans des revues ou colloques internationaux en langue polonaise, anglaise et française. Relectures, expertises et enseignement à l'intersection des sciences historiques et des sciences informatiques.
