Présentation
Nino del Solar Velarde is a Peruvian archaeologist, consultant, lecturer, and researcher specialist in material analysis, management of ancient collections, applied analytic and quantitative methods, and ancient technologies in Central Andes. He received his doctoral degree in Archaeological Sciences from Bordeaux III University & CNRS (2016). He is currently a researcher at the Peruvian Ministry of Culture in Cuzco city and the Peruvian Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (Register No. P0050915). Nino del Solar Velarde earned his bachelors degree in Archaeology (licenciado en Arqueología) at the National University of San Antonio Abad in Cuzco, then he completed his masters degree -in Human and Social Sciences- and his doctoral degree at the Bordeaux III University and the Research Centre for Applied Physics in Archaeology (IRAMAT-CRP2A UMR 5060), a joint laboratory of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). He was a researcher at San Jose Moro Archaeological Program (north coast, La Libertad), Marcavalle Archaeological Program (highlands, Cuzco), Kullupata Archaeological Project (highlands, Cuzco),.... He is author of several articles on Andean archaeology, chronology and geochemical characterization of andean ceramics and related materials (Journal de la Société des Americanistes, 2015; Heritage Science Journal, 2016; Environmental Science, 2016; Archaeometry, 2017; Boletín PUCP, 2020; Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports, 2023; Arqueología, 2023;...), and he is reviewer and editor of journals and volumes on applied analytic methods in archaeology. Recently, he co-edited two books: a book on Archaeometry, in Spanish, with the support of the Bordeaux Montaigne University, IFEA and University of Tarapaca (Feb. 2018); and a book of recent archaeological research in Cuzco region, with the support of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture (Dec. 2019).
