NOEL NGUYEN
Présentation
Short bio / Courte biographie I am a Professor (Classe exceptionnelle) at Aix-Marseille University. I hold a PhD in experimental phonetics (Aix-Marseille I, 1990) and an Habilitation à diriger des recherches (Lyon 2, 1999). After my PhD, I worked as Maître-assistant at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Geneva, Switzerland (1992-1995,1998-1999) and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge, UK, from 1995-1997. My former responsibilities include: Member of the French National Committee for Scientific Research (2008-2012); Director of the Laboratory for Speech and Language (CNRS & Aix-Marseille University, 2010-2017); Vice-Dean for Research of the Faculty of Arts, Letters, Languages, and Human Sciences, Aix-Marseille University (2016-2020). I was at the initiative of the COBRA (Conversational Brains) Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Innovative Training Network (10 universities and 4 non-academic partners across Europe) and was its coordinator from 2020 to 2022. I am affiliated to the Language and Speech Dynamics LPL research team. I am a member of the Directory Board of the Institute for Language, Communication and the Brain at Aix-Marseille. I am also co-responsible for the Aix-Marseille Master in Cognitive Science. Teaching and research / Enseignement et recherche My research and teaching activities are at the crossroads between speech sciences, neurolinguistics, and social cognition. My current research focuses on the brain and cognitive underpinnings of joint speech production and joint speech perception, ie how speech can be jointly produced and/or perceived by groups of people.
