ORCID iD icon https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9898-8798

Profile

PhD in Indology specialised in Sanskrit philology and Purāṇic Studies, I base my research on the critical edition of primary sources, both manuscript and epigraphic.

My main research field focuses on the ritual prescriptions, especially those on gift and adoption, and examines how these rites are legitimised and justified in purāṇic literature, who are their recipients, and how they are implemented. I also study the forms of early Śaivism, in particular the Pāśupata movement, its doctrinal texts and its rituals. I particularly study the possible relationships between the Pāśupata movement and the myths told in the Skandapurāṇa. For that, I assume an ideological purpose under the mythological discourse.

Currently research fellow at the University Humboldt of Berlin within the ERC-DHARMA project, I am editing, translating and interpreting an epigraphical corpus from Orissa dedicated to the Somavaṁśin dynasty.
