Presentation

My current research activities concern thermally activated Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) processes. The substrates to coat can be either planar or complex (3D parts or powders using fluidized bed CVD reactors). The aim is to correlate the synthesis conditions to the characteristics and properties of the deposited materials, by combining experimental studies on lab-scale equipments and numerical simulation works at the process scale using CFD codes. Thin films of oxides, oxi-nitrides, metals and conductive polymer (PEDOT) are studied. The application domains cover corrosion protection, thermal barrier coatings for plastic injection, materials for energy (Li-ion battery, hydrogen production, ...).
