David Buso was born in Albi, France, in 1977. He received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France, in 2001 and the Ph.D degree from the same university in 2004. From 2004 to 2006, he was involved in dimming electronic ballasts design within TridonicAtco Gmbh, Dornbirn, Austria. Since 2006, he has been an Associate Professor with the Paul Sabatier University, at LAPLACE laboratory within the “Light and Matter” group. In the early days of his carreer, he has been working on the interaction between gas discharge lamps and their electronic drivers. Thereafter his topics of interest evolved toward solid-state devices for light production. He is interested in photobiology and more particularly in the interaction between artificial light and plants/micro-organisms. He has also developed an expertise in the field of organic light emitting devices like OLED and OLET. He is more particularly interested in the fabrication and the characterisation of "green" devices using biosourced and biocompatible organic materials.
