Research topics

Development of surface acoustic wave-based (bio)chemical microsensors integrated with electronic control and signal processing. Study of elastic wave propagation and their interaction with liquid or gaseous medium. Integration of innovative structured materials as sensitive recognition films (polymers, hybrid, meso- nano-structured, biomaterials, etc.). Integration with microfluidic chips. Applications to the detection of chemical or biological species and to dynamic characterization of thin-film materials and complex fluids at high frequencies. Recent contributions are in RF microsensors on flexible substrates with nanostructured carbonated materials, polymeric optical microring resonator and digital microfluidic for application in detection of environmental analytes. Emerging field of research is on wireless solutions for micro-energy of which a new project on wireless communication platform for biomedical implants.
Major fields of application : health, environment, energy.

Développement de microcapteurs chimiques et biologiques à ondes acoustiques de surface, intégration de l’électronique de contrôle et traitement des données associées. Étude de la propagation des ondes élastiques et de leur interaction avec un milieu adjacent liquide ou gazeux. Intégration de matériaux structurés innovants comme films de reconnaissance (polymères, hybrides, méso- nano-structurés, biomatériaux, etc.). Intégration avec des puces microfluidiques. Applications à la détection d’espèces chimiques ou biologiques et à la caractérisation dynamique de matériaux en films minces ou de fluides complexes à haute fréquence. Contributions récentes sur des microcapteurs RF et matériaux carbonés nanostructurés sur substrats flexibles, microrésonateurs optiques polymères et microfluidique digitale pour application à la détection environnementale. Sujet de recherche émergent sur des solutions de micro-énergie sans fil dont un projet de plateforme communicante pour implant biomédical.
