2018- Directeur de Recherches INRAaffecté au Centre d’Etudes Spatiales de la BIOsphère (CESBIO, UMR CNES-CNRS-INRA-IRD-Université Toulouse III). 2003-2018Maître de Conférences en Ecologie à l’Université Toulouse III, affecté au CESBIO. Analyse des flux et bilans de carbone, de GES, d’eau et d’énergie entre les grandes cultures et l’atmosphère à différentes échelles spatiales. 2002-2003 Post-Doctorant à l'INRA de Clermont-Theix (équipe FGEP sous la direction de Jean François Soussana) dans le cadre du programme européen GREENGRASS**.** Analyse des émissions nettes de GES des prairies et stratégies de réductions par adaptation des systèmes d'élevage. 1998-2001 Doctorant en co-tutelle Universités Paris XI-Orsay et Université Suédoise des Sciences de l'Agriculture (SLU) d’Uppsala. En parallèle, responsable scientifique du projet Whole Tree Chambers à Flakaliden (Suède): Etude des effets fertilisants du CO2 sur la croissance et les échanges gazeux à l'échelle de l'arbre chez l'Epicéa en Forêt Boréale. 1997-1998 Contractuel au Laboratoire d’Ecologie, Systèmatique et Evolution (ESE) de l’Université Paris XI-Orsay.
