Presentation
Frédéric Heymes is associate professor at IMT Mines Ales (France)
Born in France in 1975 he is a chemical engineer specialized in fluid dynamics. He achieved in 2005 a master degree at Laval University (Canada) in multiphase flows and neural networks. He received in 2005 his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Montpellier University (France).
Since more than 15 years in IMT Mines Alès, he is working in hazardous phenomena. He was responsible for the research team *Physics of Phenomena* and the experimental facility *Spark*.
His research work focus on vapour cloud explosions, boiling expanding vapour cloud explosions (BLEVE), dust explosions and wildfires. He is currently senior researcher in the *Laboratory for Risk Sciences* at IMT Mines Ales.
He is an expert in large scale testing of dangerous phenomena, involving high speed instrumentation.
