Jeremy PRUVOST a réalisé sa thèse de 1997 à 2000 au sein du Laboratoire de Génie des Procédés – Environnement - Agroalimentaire (GEPEA – UMR CNRS 6144) à l’Université de Nantes, en collaboration avec IFREMER. En septembre 2002, il a été recruté en tant que Maître de Conférences à la Faculté des Sciences et des Techniques de l'Université de Nantes au sein du laboratoire GEPEA. En décembre 2005, Jeremy PRUVOST a obtenu l’Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches pour être nommé Professeur en septembre 2008. Il est rattaché aujourd’hui à Polytech Nantes (département Génie des Procédés-Bioprocédés). Jeremy PRUVOST a été recruté au sein du laboratoire GEPEA avec pour projet scientifique le développement de procédés pour la valorisation des microalgues. Son domaine d’expertise concerne en particulier l’intensification et la conception des photobioréacteurs en lumière artificielle ou solaire, et sur la mise en place de nouvelles applications de valorisation des microalgues. Plus spécifiquement, il travaille sur l’analyse des interactions intervenant en photobioréacteurs entre paramètres physiques (lumière, écoulement) et biologiques (photosynthèse, métabolisme). L’objectif est de développer via la modélisation des outils de dimensionnement et de contrôle spécifiques à ces bioprocédés. Ces dernières années, cela concerne en particulier la production à grande échelle et solaire de microalgues, que ce soit pour la production de masse, de composés d’intérêts, et/ou la dépollution associée d’effluents (approche écologie industrielle). L’activité portée par Jérémy PRUVOST s’est consolidée au cours des années, pour aujourd’hui regrouper une quarantaine de personnes (26 Enseignants-Chercheurs) au sein de l’équipe Bioprocédés Appliqués aux Microalgues, qu’il a dirigé de 2011 à 2018, et qui intègre les problématiques allant de la biologie des souches au bioraffinage des microalgues. Jeremy PRUVOST est Editeur Associé de la revue Algal Research depuis 2019. Jeremy PRUVOST obtained his PhD Thesis on photobioreactor engineering in 2000 at the University of Nantes (Laboratory GEPEA - UMR CNRS 6144). In September 2002, he was recruited as an Senior Lecturer at the University of Nantes in the GEPEA laboratory, with a scientific project devoted to bioprocess engineering for microalgae valorization. This project was awarded the same year by the Novatlante prize (General Council of Loire-Atlantique). The activity has strongly consolidated, and today includes forty people (26 Researchers) in a team he is leading (research team Applied Bioprocesses Microalgae). This team integrates the issues ranging from biology to microalgae valorization through culture and biorefining. In September 2002, he was recruited as a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Nantes in the GEPEA laboratory. In December 2005, Jeremy PRUVOST obtained the “Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches” to be appointed Full Professor in September 2008. He is now attached to Polytech Nantes (Department of Process and Bioprocess Engineering).
