Présentation
Areas of activities concern mainly two domains: Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) (Road and Public Transport with emphasis on congestion management and control) and Resiliency, Reliability and Quality of Service of multimodal networks.
Intelligent Transport System: I first developed a dynamic control system to regulate freeways; I then enlarged my activities to multimodal urban traffic control systems. My main concern is to develop global multimodal control strategies which respect the control objectives of each transportation mode (e.g. fluidity for road traffic, regular intervals for buses, etc.). This research activity involves road traffic, public transport and trip modeling (assignment models). Dynamic programming, as well as multi-agent modeling, is used to develop the control strategies I am more involved lately by connected and autonomous vehicles control.
Resiliency, Reliability and Quality of Service: How to measure and improve the resiliency of multimodal networks? Time reliability and topological reliability. Static and dynamic resiliency. How can we assess them from the different points of view: service provider, user and community? My research concerns roads and freeways as well as public transport. It consists on one hand, in the design and real time test of new key performance indicators for reliability and resiliency assessments. Among the important results, a cockpit, named DESCARTES, aiming to measure the quality of service of buses in a dynamic environment based on resiliency, reliability, operations and passengers indicators.
