Présentation

The survival of predators and prey depends on their respective abilities to successfully chase food and escape capture, thereby exerting strong selective pressure on their locomotory abilities. But how does fatigue affect said abilities in the wild? Using models derived from exercise physiology and remote sensing devices, we assess endurance capacity and fatigue in animals in the wild. We can then estimate fatigue levels at every moment in time to better understand how fatigue affects an animal’s capacity to move and, in turn, its ability to forage or escape, whether predator or prey.
