Rodrigo GUABIRABA
Présentation
Rodrigo Guabiraba-Brito est chercheur senior en immunologie des muqueuses, à l’interface des interactions hôte–microbiote, de l’immunométabolisme et de la recherche translationnelle. Son parcours s’est construit à travers des programmes de recherche de long terme en modèles animaux, où il a étudié comment les écosystèmes microbiens, leurs métabolites et l’environnement muqueux façonnent la résilience immunitaire le long de l’axe intestin–poumon. Ces travaux ont permis d’apporter des éclairages mécanistiques sur les processus de défense antivirale, de contrôle de l’inflammation et sur le développement d’interventions nutritionnelles ou biologiques pilotées par le microbiote. Au sein de l’INSERM, au CEPR, ses recherches prolongent et transposent cette expertise vers des enjeux de physiopathologie et de thérapeutique respiratoires chez l’humain, avec un focus sur le tripode mucus–immunité–biothérapies. Fort de son expérience à l’interface entre académie et industrie, il conçoit et coordonne des programmes de R&D multidisciplinaires intégrant immunologie, microbiologie, immunométabolisme et biologie des systèmes. Cette continuité scientifique vise à transformer des concepts issus de la santé animale en stratégies thérapeutiques muqueuses et aérosolisées innovantes, incluant notamment les bactériophages et les approches probiotiques ou à consortia définis, appliquées à la prévention et au traitement des maladies respiratoires infectieuses et inflammatoires.
