Presentation
As an Egyptologist, I consider myself a *philologist*, specialised in Old to New Kingdom written discourses; an *epigraphist*, specialised in rock inscriptions; and a *historian*, specialised in Eastern Desert history. My background in Egyptology and my first academic positions have allowed me to explore many fields, from linguistics to archaeology, and a variety of text types, from Old Egyptian to Coptic. These rich experiences are the breeding ground for my teaching philosophies. My research on rock inscriptions and desert landscapes embraces a multidisciplinary approach that enlarged my research perspectives while nourishing my intellectual curiosity: from semiotics and visual studies to geology, from linguistics and textual studies to (experimental) archaeology.
