Présentation

I am a Research Director (DR1) at CEA Cadarache and Aix-Marseille University in France. I grew up in China and studied for a PhD in the lab of Professor Colin Ratledge at the University of Hull (U.K.) from 1998 to 2002. I then worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the labs of Lorna Casselton (University of Oxford, 2002–2003) and Professor John Ohlrogge (Michigan State University, USA, 2003–2008), before finally settling in the south of France in 2009 as a Principal Investigator at CEA Cadarache. Since 2018, I have led a research team focusing on studying photosynthesis, metabolism, and signalling pathways in photosynthetic eukaryotes (microalgae and plants). As a researcher, my own interests lie in the metabolism and physiology of microalgae, particularly the genetic, functional and molecular mechanisms underlying lipid droplet biogenesis and turnover.
