Présentation

Corentin Jégou is a lecturer in Anglophone Postcolonial Literature at Nantes Université. He received his Ph.D from Sorbonne Université and Université d'Orléans in 2022 for his dissertation “Utopian World-Texts: Circulations of Epic Rhythm in James Joyce's *Ulysses* and Derek Walcott's *Omeros*”. His research is concerned with materialist readings of world-literature, peripheral modernism, and utopianism. With a focus on the relationship between Ireland and the Caribbean, he draws on the wider theory of uneven and combined development, as well as on Edouard Glissant's notions of world-totality and creolisation, in order think through the literary registrations of capitalist globalisation. He has taught undergraduate courses in English, translation, and American literature, at Lyon 2 Université, Sorbonne Université, and Paris 1 - Panthéon Sorbonne. #### Education 2022: Ph.D, English Studies, Sorbonne Université – Université d’Orléans Dissertation: “Utopian World-Texts: Circulations of Epic Rhythm in James Joyce’s *Ulysses* and Derek Walcott’s *Omeros*,” supervised by Kerry-Jane Wallart and Frédéric Regard 2016: English *Agrégation* 2013–2015: M.A. (Hons), English Studies, Université Lyon 2 Thesis: ’Yves Bonnefoy’s Shakespeare: Portrait of the Translator as a Poet,' supervised by Dominique Delmaire 2012–2013: B.A., English Studies, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle -- Erasmus at University of Leicester 2010–2012: *CPGE littéraire* at Lycée Fénelon, Paris
