Présentation
Dominique Guérillot occupied various positions in the Oil and Gas industry: Upstream R&D Program Director at Saudi Aramco (06-09), Senior reservoir consultant for Petrobras (10-13), Head of Reservoir Research at Qatar Petroleum (13-15), visiting scientist at ELF Geoscience Research Centre in London U.K. (91-93) and the Research and Academia: Executive Committee, Director of the R&D business unit and Research Director in Geology and Geochemistry at IFPEN (82-09). His main technical areas of competences are in methodologies and software in Basin and Reservoir Characterization, and Simulation for Exploration and Production including Enhanced Oil Recovery, Unconventionals and CO2 storage. After a PhD in Applied Mathematics, he joined IFP in 1982 as a Research Engineer in the Reservoir Engineering Dpt. He invented with the Paris School of Mines, Heresim, the first software package integrating reservoir characterization and flow simulations in porous media. He contributed to the ELF Geoscience Research Centre in London U.K. (91-93), Professor at Texas A&M (since 2016). Board member of several subsidiaries of IFP (Beicip-Franlab, IFP MEC, etc.).
He developed new orientations for IFP such as CO2 sequestration initiating the european CASTOR project, modified its business model to generate revenues based on royalties through the development of several strategic software for IFP and contributed to the creation of the IFP subsidiary Geogreen.
He created a Young Innovative Company (YIC), Terra 3E, in the area of Energy and Environment: http://www.Terra3E.com proposing plug-ins for Volumetric, Upscaling, History Matching, Uncertainty assessment and 3D Printing
He published more than 50 full and refereed papers and patents.
His current research focuses on introducing Artificial Intelligence technics inside reservoir simulators.
(91-93), professeur à Texas A&M (depuis 2016).
