
Eric Falc'her-Poyroux
Présentation
Erick Falc'her-Poyroux was born in 1964 in Nantes, Brittany, and Ireland has been his second home since the 1980s. He is currently a University Professor at the University of Tours in the ICD laboratory (Cultural and Discursive Interactions), after 8 years at the University of Rennes and 17 years at the University of Nantes.
The author of a PhD on Irish music in 1996, he has translated or written several books on Ireland as well as on the Beatles and is regularly invited on French media to talk about his passions.
He is the producer of a CD of Irish music (Diapason d'Or 1996), the author of a documentary on Irish music in France and has collaborated with the National Archives of French Television (INA) for a documentary on Irish dance.
An enthusiastic musician, he plays mainly guitar and drums and his tastes are eclectic, from Bach to the Bothy Band through the Beatles and Bulgarian polyphonies.
