Presentation
I am Professor of English Linguistics at Bordeaux-Montaigne University (France) and a researcher at CLIMAS. I was the recipient of a 5-year honorary position at the Institut Universitaire de France (2017-2022), a division of the French Ministry of Higher Education that distinguishes university professors for their research excellence.
My research interests are at the crossroads of cognitive linguistics and corpus linguistics. More specifically, I use corpus-linguistics and statistical techniques to test usage-based hypotheses. I have published on modality, evidentiality, and intensification from a construction-grammar perspective.
In 2017 I published a reference textbook Corpus Linguistics and Statistics with R (New York: Springer). The same year, I opened a research blog: Around the word: A corpus linguist’s notebook, where I record reflections and experiments on my practice as a usage-based corpus linguist (https://corpling.hypotheses.org/).
\---------------
En 2017, j'ai publié un manuel de référence *Corpus Linguistics and Statistics with R* (New York : Springer).
