Présentation

I am working currently on three-terminal perovskite on silicon tandem modeling, simulation, characterization and optimization.Three-terminal tandem cell is a novel concept of multijunction solar cells developed to achieve high efficiency over the theoretical limit of a single solar cell. The GeePs lab has developed and patent a new concept called three-terminal-Selective Band Offset Barrier (3T-SBOB). The novelty of this 3T-SBOB design lies in the independent operation of two monolithically fabricated cells. This means that the two subcells have independent operating voltage and can operate at maximum power points determined by their respective bandgaps. The design therefore delivers tandem efficiencies equal to conventionnal four-terminal designs, but without the constraints of two-terminal and four-terminal designs. The expected three-terminal tandem efficiency, with optimized subcell bandgaps, is over 30%. In my thesis, i brought an innovative solution to the problem of the interconnection of 3T tandem cells within solar modules, for which no industrialized model exists yet. The original architecture is a flexible, functional, and robust architecture for interconnecting complementary 3T tandem cells of reversed polarity in a two-terminal "unit block. This novel "interconnection" method was patented in 2022.
