My research is rooted in the usage-based paradigm of Multimodal Discourse Analysis, within the frameworks of Cognitive and Construction Grammars. I deal with audiovisual corpora of spontaneous conversation in British and American English. I study the interplay between different semiotic resources in real-life interaction. My research interests include syntax, Discourse Analysis, information structure, prosody, and co-speech gesture (hand gestures, head and eyebrow movement, gaze direction).
