Présentation
Monika Pukli, Full Professor in English Linguistics at Strasbourg University, is currently Assistant Director of the Doctoral School of Modern Humanities at the University of Strasbourg and PI of the Excellence Initiatives Grant “Octant – a digital platform for interdisciplinary and collaborative learning and research”.
She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès and her Habilitation from the University Paris Cité. Her research focuses on the conceptualisation of phonology and linguistic change in the context of complex dynamical systems, as well as socio-phonetic variation in general. Additionally, she works on corpus phonology, with a particular emphasis on the construction of learner corpora. She has taught courses in the BA and MA programmes of the English Department at the University of Strasbourg, covering topics in phonetics, phonology, and sociolinguistics.
She has supervised a large number of undergraduate research projects, and was granted the individual component of the Research and Doctoral Supervision Allowance under the national RIPEC scheme in 2024, the Teaching Recognition and Pedagogical Commitment Award in 2021, as well as a Pedagogical Project Leave (2024), and two Research Leaves (2020 and 2016) by the University of Strasbourg.
