Présentation

Nadia Lichtig is an artist-researcher whose work explores painting as a temporal, translational, and relational medium extending beyond visual representation. Rooted in a research-based practice engaging language, memory, and modes of transmission, she develops the concepts of furtive painting and radio-painting to describe forms that emerge across visual, sonic, and deferred registers.

Working from recorded speech, interviews, readings, notes, and archival fragments, she translates vocal traces into paintings, radio works, performances, installations, and editions. Her practice investigates how disappearance, displacement, and fragmentation may generate new modes of presence, conceiving painting less as an object than as an operative condition of resonance, listening, and transmission.

Situated between contemporary art, artistic research, and linguistic inquiry, her work proposes an expanded understanding of painting as a site of co-presence, transformation, and circulation across media. Represented by Anne+ in Paris, she teaches expanded painting at MO.CO. ESBA Montpellier and holds a PhD in Practice and Theory of Artistic Creation from Aix-Marseille Université.
